Hi, if you've read my words before or we've chatted elsewhere a warm welcome to you!
If you're new to what I share ~ welcome too!
Iām Emma Rose, a Mom, Poet, Mental Health First Aider and more. I tend to be pretty private online, although Iāll share a little here with you...
Chatty notes I write are sometimes written from the perspective of a firm, fair, encouraging and loving Mom. A role I cherish dearly in life. Others from a wise, calm friend. When feeling desperately lonely those are the kind of words I used to wish I could hear. So, if you ever find yourself needing to read such words, maybe you'd like to subscribe and receive my notes. I tend to touch on topics such as caring for ourselves, each other and nature ~ with the intention they help you feel calmer, happier or healthier.
My notes are especially for you if youāre loving, lonely or longing for a better world
Over the years, when Iāve felt lonely or been struggling, Iāve often read words that have helped.
You too?
Books we can escape into for a short time, and return to our world feeling refreshed. Plus words online that have uplifted, brought joy, taught and inspired.
Now I write to pay forwards what Iāve received
Youāll find me sharing notes here occasionally ~ at times I take long breaks. I also share short notes on Bluesky sometimes. Plus, the fab reading/writing platform Medium holds over 30 of my notes. Itās a place I love learning! After I asked a question about climate care and sent suggestions, Medium thankfully began taking climate action ~ another reason I love it there.
Do you also like to consciously consider where you spend your time?
So, what can you expect from my notes?
Some may help calm you?
As Iāve been told they do.
Other notes may help you feel hopeful? Or perhaps youāll enjoy insights or practical tips that help you feel happier or healthier?
Whatever you gain, I hope what I write helps you in some way.
As youāre still reading, Iām guessing youāre like me, and like to know folks more deeply?
Well, I once shared a note on Medium āLoneliness Iāve felt ~ and about me with a twistā It held a little info⦠or read on below!
Iāll share below some life experiences Iāve had, to help you understand why I write what I do
First though, you might like to know my past included a leadership role at a pretty young age ~ and achieving academic and professional qualifications that added letters to my name. I enjoyed what some might consider to be an admirable career; however, my heart has since led me in different directions.
Have you experienced similar?
Now I write with the purpose of helping to create a more loving world. A kinder, calmer, healthier and more peaceful place is one I dream of.
Is this the kind of world youād like to live in?
Having lived in different countries ~ and visited around twenty more ~ I feel fortunate to have learned first-hand fear of people different from us is incorrect. Most folks are genuinely friendly, especially when approached with respect. I no longer fly (youāll find out why if you read on!) however what I most want to share ~ the most important words in this note actually ~ are that I believe weāre all being called on to make a decision.
Will we give in to fear, hate and division⦠or choose to be even more kind and loving with our own words and actions?

Iām wondering if you like the following words?
Be the change you want to see happen ~ Arleen Lorrance
Itās one of my favourite quotes. I believe we all have huge power to help make our world wonderful. What we choose ripples outwards from us. When we discover our gifts, and work with them in ways that help us and other folks thrive, it creates a beautiful win-win situation.
Imagine if since childhood we were taught this ~ instead of chasing external measures of success, such as wealth, status and possessions?
I feel thankful my path took me where it did ~ I believe Iāve experienced what I needed to. However, I believe Iām being what I was born to be now.
Have you found what you were born to be, too?
It took me some time ~ and in several of my notes I'll share how.
Maybe reading them will help if youāre searching to find purpose and deep fulfilment?
Oh, and you might also like to know my words are informed by a healing journey I began over two decades ago. Including trauma healing and spiritual exploration. Plus I draw on my past work and additional studies I enjoy as a life long learner when I write. This means I bring honest emotional expression and a metaphysical ~ and scientific ~ perspective to the notes I share.
Perhaps youāll find comfort in mentions I make about loneliness, or worries many of us have felt?
When we know others feel the same, it can help us feel less alone.
Or maybe youāll appreciate the way I encourage us to accept our imperfections?
Full disclosure ~ I still work on this!
Oh, and I also like to dance to the beat of my own kazoo.
Do you too?
Yep, being true to our own heartās guidance is vital in my view ā„ļø
Being silly too!
As sometimes life needs lightening up with silliness and daftness :)
Do you also care about climate change?
Itās likely weāll get along! If youāre feeling we're like-hearted, you might like to subscribe to receive the notes I share occasionally. As my children become older I may write more often, for now though I ebb and flow around living my life ~ and in winter I rest ~ so I promise to only send notes when I believe I have something of value to share with you.
If youāve already read my notes on Medium or Bluesky, you might already know some of what follows; however, something I like to understand is why people do what they do, so below are three reasons why I write the notes I do to you:
1) I advocate for self-care ~ and trained as a Mental Health First Aider ~ because sadly thereās a history of death by suicide in my family. Another family member also attempted suicide, so Iāve been determined to help myself ~ and my children ~ prevent similar.
Writing is a way I can help ripple out encouragement, wellness and hope farther than me and my family
2) Iāve felt desperately lonely at different times in my life for a variety of reasons. Developing healthy relationships that are mutually supportive and genuine is something Iām thankful Iāve achieved. So, in a time when many feel disconnected, I also occasionally share about healthy relationships because I know how good it feels to overcome overwhelming loneliness.
If you might be reading this quietly (as I often used to), and feel lonely at the mo, I hope knowing loneliness is possible to overcome gives you hope
3) I care deeply about caring for our shared home ~ and mitigating climate change ~ as one subject I studied in the past was Environmental Science. Plus, Iāve experienced terrifying-at-the-time climate change events.
Have you experienced similar?
Or noticed unusual weather for the time of year where you are?
Well, Iāll share that Iāve learned chatting about climate change and taking climate action reduces our rightful eco-anxiety. So every time I feel a spike of climate worry, I lessen it by adding a new action to what I do. Hence I no longer fly (unless in an emergency). Plus Iāve written notes on Medium about other effective climate actions I take.
Iāll share more about what I do with you in future, Iām sure. With a view to helping you chat climate, take action, or lessen your understandable concerns about climate change
I'll add here that planting and protecting trees is one of my nature/climate care actions. Itās something I do in an ongoing way, as I donate to plant a tree for every poem I write and publish with my notes here on my website, on Bluesky, Medium and in collaborations Iāve enjoyed with another writer.
Plus, if you want to help me climate care, you may choose to pay to receive notes I share ~ and I'll then donate to plant another tree.
Why trees?
Theyāre beautiful! Their shade cools us and they home wildlife. They clean air we breathe, and as a nature-based solution for climate change theyāre effective ~ they gift so many benefits!
In November 2025, total donations Iāve made equate to 225 trees planted
(you can see receipts here) š³š“š²
Iām wondering if you'll be surprised to know 80% of people have been found to support more climate action being taken?
Yet often keep quiet for fear of being the odd one out?
As a child I used to naively believe climate change would be one catastrophic event.
Did you think similar?
Instead itās weather events that are more severe, more often and unusual in a location. As this simple guide explains.
So, yes, having experienced climate change events, youāll find me advocating for taking better care of our shared home in some of my notes, by including info and actionable climate care tips.
What we each do makes a difference!
You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make ~ Jane Goodall
Sometimes the notes I share are polished, and at other times theyāre imperfect and raw. Theyāre written from the heart though ~ and I hope you enjoy reading and gain what you need.
Thank you for reading today
Love, Emma š¹ā„ļø
P.S. It feels rather sad and frustrating to have to add this; however, I identify as an AI Vegan for several reasons (including because avoiding AI is another of my climate actions). When you read my notes, you are reading my imperfect human words, I promise.
